About me

I am a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC). I trained as a psychologist later in life, in my early 30s, previously working as a genetic researcher and later in medical communications. During this time, when I was in my 20s, I sought my own psychological therapy for experiences of anxiety and panic. My therapy had a significant impact on me and sparked a desire in me to better understand what causes emotional distress and how we can heal from this pain. I therefore at this point decided to change careers to become a psychologist.

In addition to my private practice, I have worked in various NHS roles, an addiction service as well as low-cost counselling services. I have a particular interest in inter-personal and societal trauma and their effects on us, including somatic issues, relational difficulties, emotional regulation, addiction and voice-hearing.
